Short description
Electrical Engineering Systems and Technologies encompasses a wide area of electrical engineering closely related to the application of novel electrical engineering and information technologies. The concept of the curriculum is based on a systematic approach to solving engineering and research tasks. The systematic approach comprises the knowledge and the achievements in electrotechnics, power electronics, digital technology, applied mechanics, electromechanical energy conversion, contemporary measurement techniques and means of transportation. The topics on electrical drives, mechatronic systems, modelling and construction of power electronic systems, design methodologies and diagnostics of electrical machines and devices, contemporary measurement systems, intelligent sensors and actuators are studied in detail. The multidisciplinary character of the profile includes the knowledge of applied computer systems for real-time operation, signal acquisition and processing, industrial communication networks, and system control via internet.
Bridge courses
A student whose degree is not in Electrical engineering and information technology is required to take additional coursework as follows:
- students holding bachelor degree in Computing have to enrol the following “bridge” courses:
- Automatic Control (5 ECTS)
- Energy Technology (6 ECTS)
- Students holding the bachelor degree in Electrical engineering or other related bachelor degree will have to enrol additional courses depending on a difference between their bachelor curriculum and the bachelor curriculum in Electrical engineering and information technology at FER. Additional courses will be defined individually for each applicant by the Admission Committee.
